Dark spaces

Honolulu, Hawaii, USA – a room, in a house, in a neighbourhood with dogs across the road.

 

In our own rooms, revealed. Concealed in dark, outlined by the wash of a streetlamp spilling in from the outside.  Unsharp, unclear, questions hovering in the dark spaces. Sometimes the most beautiful of scenes are the ones that leave some things unsaid.

Port Sandfield, Canada – a cottage by a lake.

 

It is only when a moment feels lost that the memory of it takes on significance.

Clarke Quay, Singapore – an old shop house that has served as the living and office quarters for a family business spanning four generations.

 

See him for what he really is. A reluctantly aging man whose dwindling purpose in life is to see the end of it as best as he can. A man who looks upon the face of his grown children, searches for things he might still teach them, and perhaps some small way to keep them by his side.
